We talked to one of the holding's most experienced managers – Alyona Chupak, who has conducted hundreds of job interviews. Alyona shared her advice on how to be successful in an interview and prove one's self from the best side:
• Don't be late. Yes, it's trivial, but if you are getting late from the beginning, it won't play in your favor. It's best to come a bit in advance instead of awkwardly trying to explain that you were in a traffic jam, your bus left early, you were saving a dog, etc. Getting late? Let the manager know and show that you are a responsible person.
• Get acquainted with the company on the web. Explore the site, check the social networks, try to understand what the company deals with to not get surprised on the interview.
• Ask questions. Make sure to write down 3-5 questions that you're concerned about regarding the employer and ask them. If you won't do this, you may get lost and forget about them and then be too shy to ask.
• Think about how you should introduce yourself. You are going to be asked about your past experience. It's best to arrange a short answer before the interview instead of trying to remember what did you manage to do in your 20-30 years. And, if your departure from your previous job wasn't all that nice, it's better to think about the best possible version ahead of time ;)
• Try to relax. An interview is not an interrogation. You are going to be asked questions by people that are just like you. The best way to show yourself is to inhale-exhale, calmly answer the questions, and add a few details to them.
• Answer the questions in full. Try to not give curt answers, saying just 'yes' or 'no.' If you are asked about your previous workplace, try to add some details about what you were doing, how long you were working there, and why you found it interesting.
• Make notes. Don't be shy to take a notepad or prepare an app on your smartphone to write down important information or questions that may arise.
• Try to maintain a formal dress code. We all love Nike, Adidas, and Puma apparel, but as they say, good clothes open all the doors. Clearly, any company is going to value your intellectual capabilities above all else, but the interview is like the first date. You're not going to go on a date in the same clothes you go to the gym, right?
